Our beloved mother Amanda "Mandy" Agnes García Crawford, 84, entered into The Kingdom of God on November 8, 2021.
Amanda was the only surviving child born to Clodomiro and Amanda Garza García in Laredo,Texas on December 24, 1936. When Amanda was younger, her favorite activities were reading and serving at her Church. She attended St. Augustine School her whole life and then went on to Texas Woman's University where she graduated with a degree in education. After graduating she returned to Laredo, Texas and pursued her passionate career as a teacher, where she began teaching at Leyendecker and CL Milton until her retirement in 1989.
Amanda met her future husband Eugene (Gene) Crawford when he was stationed at Laredo Airforce Base. They were wed in 1962 and were blessed with four children: Amanda (Gina), Eugene Jr. (Gino), Valerie, and Keith. In addition she/they had 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Amanda remained a devoted and faithful Catholic servant her whole life. She continued to enjoy reading, exercising, and long walks outside.
Amanda was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, and both of her parents, as well as beloved aunt and uncle, Angelina and Lauro Martinez. She is survived by Amanda (Gina) & John Adams, Eugene (Gino) & JoAnn Crawford, Valerie & Ulysses Cuellar, and Keith & Michelle Crawford, along with all of her grandchildren: Kristin Nichole Adams, Jordan Nicole Crawford, Kaycee Rae Crawford, Madison Jo Crawford, Kaylin Anne Cuellar, Lillian Grace Cuellar, Rowen William Cuellar, Allison Eden Cuellar, Kennedy Addison Crawford, and Reagan Quinn Crawford, as well as her great grandchildren Robert Sean Strouse and Austin Brody Strouse. She is also survived by many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Services will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla, Texas located at 500 Main Street. Viewing will be held from 4-8 pm on Monday, November 15, 2021 with a rosary at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Patrick's Church in Laredo (located at 555 E Del Mar Blvd) at 11 am on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She will be laid to rest at Laredo City Cemetery where she will joyously join her husband.
