Angel De Jesus
Martinez
Jun 15, 1998 — Aug 16, 2026
Angel De Jesus Martinez, 28, of Cotulla, Texas, passed away on August 16, 2026. He was born on June 15, 1998, to Maria De Jesus Martinez, Hector Mario Leal Sr., and his biological father, Salvador Oyarvide and Erika Nunez.
Angel grew up with a passion for fitness, sports, traveling, hiking, trying new foods, and always dressing sharp. He truly never met a stranger. Angel had the best smile and a kind, generous heart. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if he could and always made those around him feel welcome and loved. He was the best little brother and the best big brother, and he had a way of making everyone laugh. His laughter was contagious, and he could always find a way to bring joy to those around him.
Angel graduated from Cotulla High School in 2017. On June 23, 2024, Angel was baptized before the Lord, making a profession of faith. On July 3, 2024, he married the love of his life, Alejandra Castro, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Angel’s greatest joy was being a husband and a father to his beloved daughter, Ezlyn. His family was his greatest pride, and the love he had for them was at the center of his life.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Guadalupe B. Martinez, Grandfather Ernesto (Cubita) Consuegra, and Aunt Josephine Martinez.
Angel is survived by his devoted wife, Alejandra Castro; his daughter, Ezlyn; his mother, Maria De Jesus Martinez; his biological father, Salvador Oyarvide; and his dad, Hector Mario Leal Sr. and mom Erika Nunez. He is also survived by his sisters, Leslie (Cory) Darbonne, Christina Leal, Miranda Oyarvide, and Christina Oyarvide; his brothers, Hector (Samantha) Leal and Michael Oyarvide; his nephews, Jacob Saldivar, Landon Darbonne, and Benson Darbonne; and his nieces, Adaline Aranda, Aubrey Aranda, Kendall Leal, Kylie Leal and numerous cousins, Uncles and Aunts.
Angel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His beautiful smile, generous heart, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever.
