Obituary

Angelina Laurel Sanchez died peacefully on June 6, 2016 at her home in Laredo, Texas. She was 94 years old.
Born in 1922, Angelina was one of seven children born to Zaragoza and Maria Laurel. In 1940, Angelina graduated from Ursuline Academy and on August 20, 1949 married Trinidad P. Sanchez Jr.
Angelina was a devoted Catholic and loving mother of six children, who she cherished deeply and raised to become upstanding individuals. Her charisma, affection and witty candor always made her the most adored person in a room. Those lucky enough to have known her will agree there are few individuals as strong and remarkable. Throughout her life she was faced with countless challenges and heartbreaks and through each poignant moment, she handled them with grace and strength. Angelina was the type of person people aspire to be and many were truly blessed to know.
Angelina is preceded in death by her parents Zaragoza and Maria Laurel, her husband Trinidad P. Sanchez Jr, her daughter Laura Sanchez, her brothers Alonzo (Esther) Laurel, Oscar Laurel, Sergio (Eloisa) Laurel, Angel Laurel and sister Arabela (Armando) Benavides. She is survived by her sister Oralia Laurel, her sons Guillermo P. Sanchez, Trinidad (Leticia) Sanchez III, Mario Sanchez, David (Adriana) Sanchez; her daughter Sandra (Larry) Puig; her grandchildren Evan Sanchez, Amanda Sanchez, Alexandra Sanchez, David Sanchez II, Laura Puig, Megan Puig, Andria Puig; brother in law Roberto P. Sanchez, sisters in law Elsa Laurel, Lidia Laurel and many nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Manuela and Guillermina for their loyal love and devotion towards the care of our mother. Utmost gratitude goes out to Farias Home Health Care and Nurses on Wheels of Laredo for their impeccable care of our mother.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 8:30am to 9:45am. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church with a Mass of the Resurrection commencing at 10:00am with Father Jacinto Olguin as celebrant, 555 E. Del Mar Blvd., Laredo, TX. 78041. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
