June 22, 2012 Arthur James Hill, 80, of Cotulla, TX passed away in his sleep. He was born in San Antonio to Richard Burton and Vida Mae Hill. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vertice Hill; sons, Howard Hill, Robert Hill, and John Hill; daughters, Pamela Hill, Brenda Hill Bludau and husband Charles; son-in-law, Enfrain Montemayor and wife Michele; grandchildren, Eric Montemayor and wife Elizabeth, Lauren Montemayor, and Samantha Hill; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Zachary Montemayor.
He was preceded in death by his precious children Carol Ann Montemayor and Brian David Hill. Arthur grew up on a farm outside of San Antonio and was a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin in 1954. After college he served as pharmacist in the US Army. His career as a registered pharmacist spanned 50 years, predominantly as owner of Gaddis Pharmacy in Cotulla. Arthur loved watching college football, especially his Texas Longhorns. One of his most treasured sports memories was attending the Rose Bowl Game when the Longhorns won the 2005 National Championship in Pasadena, CA. Arthur enjoyed life, time with family, traveling, and working in his garden. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by his loving children.
A Rosary for Mr. Hill will be held on Thursday June 28, 2012 at Peters Funeral Home at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hill will be held on Friday June 29, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cotulla, TX at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at the family plot in Cotulla West Cemetery.
The family entrusted funeral arrangements to Peters Funeral Home , 500 N. Main St., Cotulla, TX (830) 879-2615.
