Velasquez
Apr 20, 1972 — Feb 28, 2025
Cotulla
Arturo "Turie" Velasquez, a cherished member of the Cotulla, Texas community, was born and lived his life in Cotulla, where his warm smile, generous spirit, and infectious humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Turie was a man who loved deeply—his family, his shop, and the simple joys of life. His favorite saying, "vatos locos forever," was a testament to his vibrant personality and his commitment to embracing life with passion and a lighthearted spirit.
Known for his kind heart and readiness to help anyone in need, Turie had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh and feel cared for. Whether through his work at the shop or in his everyday interactions, his compassion and humor were constants that brightened the lives of family, friends, and community members alike.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted mother, Enedelia Velasquez; his caring siblings, Angelica Salazar, Amy Velasquez, and Andres Velasquez Jr.; his treasured children, Annalise Renee Velasquez, Andrew Anthony Velasquez, and Allisyn Karla Velasquez; and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. Their lives, enriched by his guidance and love, stand as a living legacy to the remarkable man he was.
Turie's warmth, humor, and kindness will be forever remembered. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey. "Vatos locos forever" was not just a saying—it was a celebration of a life well-lived.
Private services will be held at the request of the family.
