Benigno G. Villarreal, (Nino), age 82, passed away October 21, 2020 in hospice care in Corpus Christi. He was born on January 6, 1938 to Benigno Sr. & Amelia Villarreal in Cotulla, Texas. He graduated from Cotulla High School and married his high school sweetheart, Sylvia. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage live in Cotulla.

Nino retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after serving 39 years in the highway construction field. He enjoyed traveling all over the US, Mexico and the Caribbean with his wife on many cruises, train tours, bus tours and road trips. One of his favorite hobbies was building something on his ranch and walking the many trails with his dog.

Nino is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; parents, his brother Vicente and his son, John Frank. He is survived by his sister Amelia, his son, Anthony and his wife Theresa Villarreal of Corpus Christi, son, David Michael Villarreal of Corpus Christi, and grandchildren, Catherine Siena Villarreal, Anthony Joseph Villarreal and John Paul Villarreal.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Waterford Assisted Living Facility, Legacy Point Hospice Care and their staff for Nino's care and companionship during restricted family visitation due to Covid.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 10:00am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cotulla.
