Catarina was born in Cotulla, Texas to Prisciliano and Ofelia Morin on May 3rd, 1935. She attended Cotulla High School. She went on to marry the love of her life, Mike A. Hernandez on January 26th, 1958. She and her husband relocated to Northbrook, IL where they built a very successful landscaping business in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Catarina was the Office Manager for her husband's business and was essential in helping her husband expand their landscaping business for over 40+ years. They retired to Live Oak, Texas in 2014 and enjoyed returning to Texas in their golden years. But her true success was her marriage and her two children and Michael and Julie. She truly loved being a wife and a mother. A quote from her daughter stated, "I knew at every point of my life, even as an adult, I was truly loved. I always saw my value in my mother's eyes. Her presence in our family is a great loss." Catarina was married to Mike A. Hernandez for over 62 years and they had known each other for over 65 years. Theirs was a true match made in heaven. Anyone that knew them always remarked on how devoted they were to one another.
Catarina was predeceased by her parents, Prisciliano and Ofelia Morin, her brothers Santana Morin, Leopoldo Morin, her sisters, Antonia Ruiz, Francisca Salinas, and her son Michael. She is survived by her husband, Mike and daughter, Julie Tarsio, her son in law James, Tarsio, Melissa Rodriguez and her two sisters, Ofelia Fonseca and Sylvia Spaulding, and countless cousins whom she all considered her immediate family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
