Catarina S. Ramirez of Cotulla, Texas died on July 28, 2012 at Morningside Manor in San Antonio, she was 97. Catarina was born March 24, 1915 in Cotulla to Ramon and Maria Sanchez.

Mrs. Ramirez is preceded in death by her husband: Alejandro Ramirez and daughter: Maria Antonio Longoria. She is also preceded in death by her brother Manuel Sanchez and four sisters: Isabel Farias, Paulita Segovia, Cleotilde Garza (all from Laredo) and Magdalena Veliz from San Antonio.

Mrs. Ramirez is survived by sons: Alejandro (Rosa) Ramirez, Jr. from Odessa and Rene (Julia) Ramirez from San Antonio, and sister Gloria (Jacinto) Ortega from Pearsall. Mrs. Ramirez is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Catarina and husband Alejandro owned and operated Alex Café in Cotulla for many years. And for many years she owned and operated a flower shop from her home.

Funeral services were held on July 31 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cotulla.

Pallbearers were grandsons Lorrie and Lenny Longoria, Alex and Javier Ramirez, and Monte and Gabriel Ramirez.
