Rev Deacon Joe Patterson passed away on December 19, 2015, at the age of 80. He was born on April 7, 1935 to Antonio and Guadalupe Patterson Sr.
Mr. Patterson spent 30 years as a chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and became Deacon on September 15, 1996.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Corina Patterson; children, Jose Patterson Jr. and his wife Laura, Jimmy Patterson and his wife Linda, Jesse Patterson and his wife Miroslava, Jerry Patterson and his wife Mary, Cindy Patterson Hernandez and her husband Paul and Cynthia Patterson-Lopez and her husband Adrian; grandchildren, Rudy Gonzalez, Erica Patterson, Jimmy Patterson II, Haydee Patterson, Jerry Patterson Jr., Jacob Patterson, Joshua Patterson, Patricia Lopez and Carolina Lopez; siblings, Adolfo Patterson, Johnny Patterson, Janie Sosa and Mary Patterson-Cantu. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Peters Funeral Home from 8:00a.m. to 10:30a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 and will depart for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:40a.m. for services at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow at the Cotulla East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
