Eusebio Rodriguez Jr., affectionately known as Chevo, was born on December 16, 1942, in Encinal, Texas, to Herlinda and Eusebio Rodriguez Sr. He passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Diana Rodriguez; his daughter, Nereida Vergara; son-in-law, Matias Vergara; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and close family members.
Chevo is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Melissa Rodriguez, Elizabeth Roberts and sisters, Alicia Valles, Josefina Rodriguez and Anselma Aldaco.
Chevo is survived by his wife, Diana Rodriguez; daughter, Nereida (Matias) Vergara; siblings, Linda Mancha, Estella Mejia, Raul (Marissa) Rodriguez and Eusebia Soto; grandchildren, Juan Jose Vergara, Eusebio Vergara, Thalia Vergara, Matias Vergara Jr., Yliana Vergara, Kelsie Roberts (Aaron), Brily Frederick (Collin), Landon Roberts (Jeanne), Veronica Ramirez, Bella Ramirez (Israel), Liliana Ramirez (Joaquin) and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Chevo was a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator, a profession in which he took immense pride. His hard work and commitment to his job were well recognized in his community. Beyond his professional life, Chevo was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, Godfather, and friend. He devoted his life to his loved ones through both his labor and his presence. Chevo had a passion for teaching his trade to his nephews, friends, and grandchildren, ensuring that the knowledge and skills he possessed were passed on to the next generation. His dedication to mentoring young people was a testament to his generous spirit and belief in the importance of sharing wisdom. He was known for his love of dancing, especially with his wife and daughter, and for enjoying music and singing along to his favorite tunes. Chevo cherished the time spent with his family, including his wife, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, friends, and his sons-in-law, to whom he was a great father-in-law. His joyous spirit and the memories of the good times shared will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Chevo's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of his community and family. However, the legacy he has left behind through his dedication, love, and vibrant presence will continue to inspire and be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and remembered always.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Peters Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be held at 7:00p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:00a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Encinal Cemetery.
