Evita Cuellar Garza, age 94 of Adrian, MI passed away on February 21, 2017 at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian under the loving care of her family.
She was born on October 30, 1922, in Cotulla, TX to Jose Angel Cuellar and Viviana Rodriguez Cuellar. She married Oliverio F. Garza on June 11, 1946 in Cotulla, TX. Evita was raised in Cotulla before moving to Adrian, MI in 1967. She was a devout and faithful catholic , attending St. Mary's Church and over the years had been a member of the Guadalupe Society. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, sewing, and baking her famous apple empanadas.
Evita is survived by her son, Oliverio (Rosalinda) Garza Jr. of Adrian and their three sons, Oliver (Karissa) Garza, Carlos (Angela) Garza and Estevan (Erika) Garza. Her daughter, Maria Antonietta (Robert) Thomas of Adrian and their four daughters, Debrah (Chad) Loveland, Cynthia Thomas, Diana Thomas and Amanda Thomas. Evita is also survived by her great granddaughters, Ashley Loveland, Reese Garza, Scarlett Garza and Brooke; great grandsons, Brandon Loveland, Matson Garza, Grant Garza, Wade Garza, Harrison Garza and Roman Garza.
The family of Evita would like to give a very special thanks to the Lenawee Medical Care Facility for providing outstanding care for our mother. To all the girls from Sherwood Hall that helped her with her everyday struggles and made her life a lot easier, a big thank you.
