Francisca was born on March 9, 1935 in St. Hedwig, Texas to Felix and Cruz Pina.
She was preceded in death by her husband Humberto and is survived by her children, Maria Teresa (Teri) Gonzalez, Humberto Jr. (Bear) and wife Esmeralda, Francisco Javier (Kiko/Frank), Graciela (Grace) and by granddaughter, Victoria (Tori) Rae Gonzalez and honorary granddaughter Alyssa Longoria.
She is also survived by her sisters Eulalia Salinas, Ramona Martinez, Cruz Sosa and San Juana Luna nd by her brothers, Felix Pina Jr. and Basilio Pina and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Isidra Castro, Felipa Pina, Dolores Nava, Maria Mata and Eliseo Pina.
Francisca was a faithful Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a past member of the Guadalupanas. She recalled working Jamaicas to help raise money to build the current church building. Like many of her generation, she grew up working from a very young age as a migrant throughout various states. She enjoyed her retirement after working many years at several of the Red Stores in town and also at Sack-N-Pack and lastly at the Country Liquor Store. Mom loved the bluebonnets that bloomed every spring in her yard. She loved to quilt and gave each of her children and granddaughter quilts she lovingly made. She was also a talented seamstress making all of her daughters' dresses when they were growing up and also many of their Halloween costumes. Mom emphasized the importance of an education and encouraged us to continue learning.
She will be greatly missed by her family and they are grateful for the wonderful memories they have of her and all the lessons she taught them. You did a good job mom.
Due to current COVID conditions, the family will not be gathering after services are concluded.
