Gilbert Trevino, age 67, of Cotulla passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022. He was born on November 8, 1954, in Lonestar, TX. He was a cattle hauler for 40 plus years, most recently with Raul Ayala Trucking. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Gilbert enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends, barbecuing and fishing. Most of all he loved his grandchildren who affectionately referred to his as "Pop".

Mr. Trevino is preceded in death by his longtime love, Lucia Gonzalez; parents, Orfelio and Petra Trevino; brother, Orfelio Trevino Jr.; brother-in-law, Felipe Gonzalez and mother-in-law, Josefa Gonzalez.

Mr. Trevino is survived by his daughter, Talisa, (Stefan) Hinton and Stephanie (Jose) Garcia; grandchildren, Stefan Jr. "TJ" and Gabriella Hinton, Devin and Iliana Cantu; brothers, Alfredo (Cissy) Trevino, Louis (Leticia) Trevino and Orfelio (Alisvia) Trevino; sisters, Hela (Alvaro) Gonzalez, and Emma (John) Cazares. He is also survived by his beloved pet, Cinnamon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Peters Funeral Home from 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. Inurnment will follow at the Cristo Rey Cemetery.
