Guadalupe S. Casas passed away on January 8, 2018. She died peacefully surrounded by her family.
Guadalupe was born in Concepcion, TX on October 212, 1929 to Jacobo and Edwarda Silvas. She was the second of five siblings and is survived by her sister Luisa Arrellano.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by her husband, Israel Casas; brothers, Jorge Silvas, Isaac Silvas, Margarito Silvas and great granddaughter Leilani Dianne. She is survived by her children, Martita C. (Johnny Frank) Martinez, Israel (San Juana) Casas, Jr. and Roberto (Sylvia) Casas. Grandchildren, Johnny Frank Jr., Vanessa Ann Garcia (Christopher), Criselda, Isabel, Israel III, Roberto Jr., David Michael and Matthew Ryan (Shannon). Great grandchildren, Emily Nicole, Eli Israel and Camille Elise and numerous nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
Guadalupe grew up in Concepcion, Texas and met the love of her life in Hillsboro. They were married on November 15, 1947 in Tahoka, Texas. They moved to Cotulla, Texas where they started their family. Guadalupe and Israel lived there for 64 years. Guadalupe lived her remaining 6 ½ years in San Antonio, Texas.
Guadalupe was very active in Sacred Heart Church where she was a member of the Guadalupanas and the church choir. She loved to crochet, knit and quilt and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She took in family members who needed help and would provide for all those in need. Her compassion and kind spirit made her loved throughout the community.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to thank the staff at Stone Oak Care and Season's Hospice, who made her final days restful and comfortable.
