The Lord called Jacinto R. Benavidez, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Thursday March 27, 2025. He is now with his beloved wife, Maria Aurelia (Honey).
He was born in Cotulla, Texas September 11, 1932 to Rafael Benavidez and Genoveva Rincon Benavidez. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Octaviano, Roman, Rafael, Amado; sisters, Felix Montemayor, Genoveva Benavidez, Ana Moreno; son, Vincent David Benavidez and the mother of his children, Maryee H. Whitley.
Jacinto enjoyed dancing with his beloved wife, Honey. He was an avid gardener who not only worked on his garden, but would also work on up keeping his brother's plants. Jacinto enjoyed handcrafting bird baths and would give them away to his relatives. He was an arcade crane game enthusiast who would lovingly give away his winnings to his great grandnieces or other small children in his presence. Jacinto was a witty, caring fun loving uncle who will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his sons Michael (Tammy) Benavidez of Hampton, Iowa, Jacinto Benavidez of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Mark Benavidez of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Daughter-In-Law, Shelly Benavidez of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tanya Parent, Eddie (Megan) Benavidez, Danielle Benavidez, Joshua Benavidez, Dallas Benavidez, Cody Benavidez, Heather Benshoof, Damien Benavidez, Destiny Benavidez, Bailey Benavidez and Nicholas Benavidez; numerous great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025; at Peters Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Cristo Rey Cemetery in Cotulla.
