Jesus Avila of Cotulla passed away October 13, 2012 at the age of 78. He was the son of Bruno and Teresa Avila.

Mr. Avila is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia F. Avila; brothers, Antonio Avila, Francisco Avila, and Jose Avila; and sisters, Josefa Rodriguez, Juana Avila, and Guadalupe Senisais.

Mr. Avila is survived by his children, Alicia (Ronaldo) Reyna, Celia Avila, Rogelio (Aurora) Avila, Jesus Avila Jr., and Elsa (Luis) Flores; brother, Manuel (Armandina) Avila; 15 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitations for Mr. Avila were at Peters Funeral Home on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00pm.

A graveside service was held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Cotulla West Cemetery at 5:00pm.

Pallbearers were Geraldo Reyna, Gabriel Reyna, Erik Segura, Trey Avila, Rogelio Avila Jr., Emilio Avila, Louie Flores, and Elio Ramirez III.
