Julia G. Fernandez entered into her eternal rest on February 15, 2020 in Carrizo Springs at the age of 90.  Julia is preceded in death by her parents Santos Sr. and Juanita Gonzales, her husband of 62 years, Lucio and their daughters Dalia F. Perez and Bernice F. Garcia.  Also preceding her in death are her siblings Alfredo Gonzales, Santos Gonzales Jr. and Santiago Gonzales.

Julia was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista for many years.  She was a pillar of her church and spent many days cleaning the church where many prayers were said while preparing the church for Sunday service.  Julia also enjoyed reading and studying her bible daily, working on crossword puzzles, and having her fresh cup of coffee at the local café.

Julia is survived by her son Guillermo (Bernice) Fernandez of Wisconsin, daughter Diana (Dea†) Sullivan of Alabama; her siblings Elisa Garcia, Emma Arriaga, Juanita Carranza, Jose (Gloria) Gonzales, Maria (Dario) Gutierrez and Isabel (Victor) Ynclan; son-in-law's Cristoval Garcia Sr. and Rocky Perez Sr.; grandchildren Jeffery Fernandez, Jerry Fernandez, Frank Fernandez, Richard Fernandez, Cynthia Barbosa, Christine Guzman, Cristoval Garcia Jr., Rocky Perez Jr., David Perez, Jeanette Ramirez, Lisa Miller, Amy Gordy and April Curtis.  She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Perez Sr., Rocky Perez Jr., Cristoval Garcia Sr., Cristoval Garcia Jr., Miguel Rodriguez and Oseas Osio Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held at the Primera Iglesia Bautista on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
