Julio Vargas passed away on December 27, 2019 at the age of 96. He was born on October 10, 1923 to Valentine and Emilia Vargas.

During his lifetime he worked in the Chicago land area doing landscaping. In the 1980's he settled in Cotulla with his family. Julio was his own boss working as a Jack-of-all-trades in the community. A story teller of his life and lover of music playing his accordion and guitar till the end. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Mr. Vargas is preceded in death by his wife, Benita T. Vargas; children, Maria Estel Vargas, Ethel Alisa Vargas, Jose Julio Vargas, Jose Luis Vargas, Maria Luisa Trevino; grandson, Vincent Vargas; sisters, Catarine Vargas, Josefa (Chano) DeLeon, Norberta De La Rosa and his brothers, Francisco Vargas (Julia Hernandez) and Manuel Vargas.

Mr. Vargas is survived by his daughter, Rosa Vargas Rodriguez; son, Juan F. (Patricia) Vargas; grandchildren, Melissa Trevino, Guadalupe Rodriguez Jr., America M. Rodriguez, Juan P. Rodriguez, Angela E. Rodriguez, Joe Jason Vargas, Juan F. (Jessica) Vargas Jr., Michael A. (Rosemary) Vargas and Veronica L. Vargas; great grandchildren, Guadalupe (Ashley) Rodriguez III, Rosalinda R. (Victor) Tellez, Guadalupe (Veronica) Rodriguez, Guianna M. (Joseph) Rodriguez, Rochelle R. (Max) Obregon, Gabriel Rodriguez, Arabella Rose M. Rodriguez, Emily Vargas, Michael Vargas Jr., Angela Vargas, Jaxon Carrizales, Camila Carrizales and his great great grandchildren, Jenessa Jo Castor, Giselle N. Rodriguez, Diana Rae Tellez, Devena Tellez, Desirae Tellez, Victor Tellez Jr., Vincent Tellez, Jameson Ochoa and Madalyn Obregon.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Peters Funeral Home from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. with a Prayer Service at 1:00p.m.
