Larry M. Horton passed away on June 30, 2015, at the age of 66. He was born in San Marcos, TX to Burlen and Mary Louise Horton.
Mr. Horton grew up in San Antonio. When his aunt and her husband moved to Cotulla he would come down to visit. It was then that he fell in love with the country and hunting. He enjoyed cooking with various meats and participated in the Wild Hog Cook Off and in 2014 his entry for the local Emmaus Community team won grand champion. Larry became an active Christian in the early 1990s and for more than a decade he was active in the local and area Emmaus Community. On July 12, 2015 he and his wife Clara Jo would've celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Mr. Horton is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Jean Horton and brother Garry Horton.
Mr. Horton is survived by his loving wife Clara Jo Horton; stepbrother, William Ray (Brenda) Horton; stepsisters, Linda Gaida and Sandra (Stan) Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Alexander Memorial Library, 201 Center Street, Cotulla, Texas 78014, the La Salle County Fair Association, 300 Engineer Ln., Cotulla, Texas 78014 or to a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Peters Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at the Cotulla East Cemetery.
