Maria Isabel Perez Alaniz, 73 died surrounded by her family in Hondo, Texas. She was born on May 18, 1945 at the Corralitos Ranch in San Ygnacio, Texas to Tomas and Feliz Perez.

Maria was a homemaker. She loved to cook, bake and most of all gardening, especially her roses. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sabinal, Texas where she and her husband sang in the choir for many years.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Leonard Sandoval Jr. and brothers, Tomas Perez Jr., Arturo Perez, Mauro Perez, Raul Perez and Jose Perez.

Maris is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Antonio; children, Antonio "Benny" Alaniz of Dunlay, Tx., Norma Alaniz of Corpus Christi, Tx., Adan (Lally) Alaniz of Hondo, Tx., Marisol Alaniz of Windcrest, Tx., Alma (Jimmy) Albarado III of Leakey, Tx., Adrian Alaniz of Dunlay Tx., and Christian Alaniz of Cotulla, Tx. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren that adored her and numerous great grandchildren as well as her siblings, Evangelina Garza and Alfredo Perez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Peters Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Interment will follow at the Artesia Wells Cemetery.
