Mark Mattingly passed away on May 20, 2023, at the age of 66. He was born on June 25, 1956, to Beverly Lewis (Bud) and Eva Jean Mattingly.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Bud Mattingly.
Mark Mattingly is survived by his wife, Holly Mattingly; daughters, Storhm (Billy) Remillard and Shade Golden; grandchildren, Justin Remillard, Kylee Golden and Kollins Golden; mother, Eva Jean Mattingly; siblings, Edmond (Raellen) Mattingly, and Isaac Mattingly; half siblings, Jay Quarles, Stacey (Lisa) Quarles, Michael (Kelly) Quarles, Carolee Quarles, and Elizabeth (Rick) Hilton. Along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special acknowledgments also include close friends Mike Ezer, Kelly Shull, Charlie McClain, Scot Kelso, Chris Surles, and James Mahan.
Mark graduated from Dilley High School in 1975 and went on to play football in college for the University of Houston and Southwest Texas State University.
Anyone who knew Mark knew he loved hunting, fishing and cracking jokes any chance he had. Mark retired from a long-time career with Beynon Surfaces in 2012 - a career in which he traveled the continental U.S. and gained many substantial friendships along the way with individuals from all over the country.
Mark was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dilley, TX - where his father Bud Mattingly had been the minister for 20+ years.
Words cannot express how deeply missed Mark will be by so many. He was truly one of a kind - and his legacy lives on.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 10:00am at Gosch Field - Dilley Football Field in Dilley, TX.
