Mary Virginia Hearn Landrum passed away on November 30, 2013, in New Braunfels, TX. after a brief illness. Mary Virginia was born on March 18, 1927, in Pleasanton, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Raymond A. (Jiggs) Landrum, her parents John E. and Agnes Hill Hearn, and three brothers James Leon Hearn, Ralph Howard Hearn and Roy Lee Hearn.
Mary Virginia was a long time resident of Cotulla, TX. She lived in Laredo as a child and from the age of sixteen lived on the Landrum family ranch west of Artesia Wells until moving back to Cotulla in 1972. While in Cotulla, she was a charter member of The South Texas Cattle Women, the Woman's Club and the Garden Club. Mary Virginia was the organist for Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 32 years, and was a founding member of the Daughters of St. Anne's Society. She retired to New Braunfels in February, 2013, and loved her new home and community.
Mary Virginia is survived by her four children, son Raymond A. (Andy) Landrum, Jr. and wife Linda of New Braunfels, daughter Agnes Jan Spahn of San Antonio, Daughter Vicki Ann Spiekerman and husband Charles Fred of Odem TX and son John H. Landrum and wife Marye Lou of La Vernia, TX.; 8 grandchildren, Deborah Marie Baldwin and Husband Nathan of St. Leonard, MD, Marcie Lee Howell and husband Michael of Austin, John Charles (Chuck) Spiekerman and wife Katie of Keller, TX, Tracy Lee Dohogne and husband Brandon of San Antonio, Amanda Anne Inocencio and husband Michael of San Antonio, Jeffery Ray Landrum and wife Casse of San Antonio, Randy Chase Landrum and wife Linde of San Antonio, and Thomas Christopher Landrum and wife Hollie of San Antonio; 16 great-grandchildren, Brandon Aaron Berge, Summer Marie Baldwin, Colton Riley Stahl, Reagan Kale Worley, Lucas Adam Baldwin, Madisen Alysse Howell, Hudson Ray Landrum, Ryker Chase Landrum, Hailey Kay Landrum, William Charles Spiekerman, John Edward Landrum, Brehn Michael Dohogne, Kendall Braelyn Howell, Delahney Constance Dohogne, Christopher James Landrum and John Christopher Spiekerman.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 6:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11:00am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Cotulla Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Father Francisco Stodola.
