Melida Martinez of Cotulla passed away on April 10, 2013 at the age of 81. She was born on September 11, 1931 to Apolonio and Ofelia Flores.

Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Martinez; sister, Virginia Avila; and brother, Alvaro Flores.

Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Francisco (Maria Cornelia Gaytan †) Martinez, Jr., Violeta (Guillermo) Rosas, Roberto (Maria de Jesus) Martinez, Maria Ana (Rafael †) Gutierrez, Virginia Martinez (Eduardo Jr.) Nieto, Zulema (Noe) Nieto, Raul (Maria F.) Martinez, Javier (Adriana) Martinez, Jorge (Veronica) Martinez, and Luis Alberto Martinez; siblings, Guadalupe Avila, Martin Flores (Graciela) DelaCruz, Irma (Amador) Castillo, Cleotilde Flores, Jesus Flores (Consuelo) DelaCruz, and Apolonio Flores (Maria) DelaCruz. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitations will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cotulla on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at the Cotulla East Cemetery.
