Nora Louise Shull Starnes 86, of Dilley was born April 23, 1926, in Millett, TX and was called home to be with the Lord February 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Ola Shull and husband of 59 years Walter William (Bill) Starnes and daughter, Barbara Ann Starnes McCarthy.
She is survived by her brother, Edward Shull and wife Patty of Dilley; her sons, Walter Starnes and wife Darlene of Baytown and Ray Starnes and wife Marilyn of Baytown, Royce Starnes and wife Donna of Dilley; son-in-law Stan McCarthy and wife Patsy of Mansfield; 14 grandchildren, Doyle McCarthy and wife Misi, Angela McCarthy Shook and husband Wayne, Jeff Starnes and wife Karen, Mika Starnes Durr and husband Brady, Anita Goss and husband George, Lesley Myers and Husband Ronnie, Anthony Starnes, Autumn Starnes, Adam Starnes, Stephanie Starnes Valdez and husband Tony, Stacy Starnes Jackson, Justin Starnes, Jacob Starnes and Samantha Starnes; 24 great grandchildren, Bryana Shook, Courtney Shook, Justin Shook, Chandler McCarthy, Alexander Durr, Sydney Durr, Jordyn Durr, Matthew Durr, Chase Myers, Taylor Myers, Riley Myers, Magen Diosdado, Dustin Diosdado, Richard Botts, Reagan Vance and husband Robby, Kaylee Goss, Jared Starnes, Macy Starnes, Josiah Starnes, Caleb Starnes, Adalynn Starnes, Kelsi Valdez, Sailey Valdez, R.J. Jackson and 1 great great grandchild, Shea Vance. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Louise was known for her unwavering faith in Christ and a devoted Christian. She was a true servant of God and faithfully served her family as a wife for 59 years, she was also a loving mother, sister and relative. She loved the church and served in numerous positions throughout her life. Everything she did was to glorify God and to see others come to know Christ. She has left a fine example of how to live by her words and her actions. She will be greatly missed.
Her family will receive friends at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla, TX. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Christian Faith Center in Dilley at 10:00am with interment to follow at the Dilley Cemetery.
