Norma Jean Posada was born in Dilley, Texas, on August 23, 1965, to Margarito and Marta Martinez. On September 22, 2026, she went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, strength, laughter, and devotion to her family and community.

Norma was a beloved sister to Amanda, Jaime, and Sonia; an amazing mother to Dalia, Lydia, Marc, Dennis, and Sabrina; grandmother to Madelyn, Merissa, Erik, Mariah, and Meah; and proud great-grandmother to Mateo and a loving niece Anissa. She was also mother in law to Daniel and Osiris.

Norma loved with her whole heart and protected those she loved with everything she had. She was smart, funny, loving, fiercely loyal, and a defender of the underdog. A proud lefty and self-proclaimed “Crazy Cat Lady,” she loved all creatures on God’s green earth and never met an animal she didn’t want to care for.

After spending more than 20 years in Houston building a career in manufacturing, Norma returned to her roots in Cotulla and to her beloved little “casita.” There, she began a new chapter and a career with Cotulla ISD as a paraprofessional—a job she loved deeply. Her students became her kids, and she cherished each one. She also made friendships she described as lifelong treasures.

Norma’s greatest gift was the way she loved people—completely, fiercely, and without reservation. She leaves behind a family and community forever changed by her presence.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Norma is now at peace with the Lord. Her love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
