Produnciana "Chana" Ruiz of Cotulla, Texas died peacefully on July 18, 2019 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Chana was born on February 28th, 1932 to Lucio and Refugia (Lumbreras) Fernandez in Artesia Wells, Texas.

In her younger years she traveled with her husband Ramon throughout Texas, Idaho, and Wisconsin as migrant workers. In 1978 they permanently resided in Kenosha, Wisconsin where they raised their family. Chana always had a love for Texas. After Ramon retired, they purchased a home in Cotulla in 1995 making it their lifelong home. Chana loved to play Bingo taking every opportunity she could to play, always winning something. She loved to sew, creating beautiful hand stitched quilts that will be treasured by her family forever. She enjoyed close conversations and laughs with family and friends.

Chana is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Ramon (2002), her son Carlos Ruiz (2011), her daughter Normalinda (Ruiz) Zertuche (2014), and her son-in-law Ernesto Zertuche (2016).

Chana is survived by her son Ernesto (Kimberly) Ruiz of Sheboygan, WI. Her grandchildren Jonathan and Anna Ruiz of Sheboygan, WI, Jose (Laurie) Zertuche of Kenosha, WI, Nellie Zertuche of Houston, Texas, and Eddie (Jamie) Zertuche of Lansing, Kansas. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Celeste Zertuche of Colorado, and Cory Llanas of Kenosha, WI.

Chana will be greatly missed, and forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who loved her. A celebration of Chana's life will be held on Saturday July 27th, 2019 at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 10:30am. Service to follow from 10:30am to11:00 am. Chana's final resting place will be at the Cotulla Cemetery following the service.
