Ramiro R. Ortiz, 87, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 in Cotulla, Texas. He was born September 12th, 1932, in Cotulla, Texas, to Manuel, Sr. and Maria De La Luz Ortiz. Ramiro was united in marriage to Frances "Pancha" Gonzalez in Racine, Wisconsin on April 24th, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 21st, 2011. He worked for Racine Unified School District as a Maintanence Engineer for 32 years, retiring in June of 1992.

Ramiro is survived by his second wife, Maria M. Ayala of Cotulla, Texas; his son, Ramiro S. Ortiz of Wisconsin; his daughters, Lucita Villarreal (Joe) of Texas, Crisilda C. Barred, Jazmin F. Ortiz, both of Wisconsin and Oralia M. Dodakian of Nevada. He is further survived by his brother Abel (Elvia) Ortiz; sisters Lucille Ysabel Barrera Ortiz, Sylvia O. Arizola and Ymelda O. Quintanilla; nine grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Ramiro was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers Manuel Ortiz, Jr and Juan J. Ortiz; sister Alicia R. Ortiz.

Ramiro loved going fishing, being out on the ranch and of course, his Green Bay Packers. The family would like to extend a thank you to the River City Hospice care team that helped Ramiro and the family through his transition.

A wake will be held Thursday May 14th, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla, Texas. Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 15th, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Cotulla East Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Ramiro S. Ortiz, Antonio O. Rodriguez, Gilbert Ayala, Rocky Maldonado, Pancho Ochoa and Joe Arranda.
