Obituary

Robert Cecil "Red" Franklin passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2022 with his loving wife by his side.  Robert had been sick for over a year and although he fought a good fight on his own terms, God decided it was time to call him home.

Robert was born on January 8, 1947 to Francis Edward "Frank" Franklin and Edith Elnora "Nonie" Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Robert Cecil "Bobby" Franklin, Jr.  He is survived by his wife, Pamela Franklin, children, Rodney Franklin, Christy Witzel, Mindi Franklin, Jase Franklin and Katy Franklin, brothers, Harvey Franklin, Francis Edward "Babe" Franklin, William "Billy" Franklin, Wayne Franklin and their families.  If you know the Franklin family you know there are too many to list but he loved you all.

Robert loved spending time with family and friends at his home in Cotulla, Texas.  He never met a stranger, had many life-long friendships and was always willing to help others.  Robert was a Cowboy in every aspect, and in the past few days we have heard from many people on how much he taught them and how much they looked up to him. He was a Christian, a great dancer, a joke and story teller, a wonderful cook, hard worker - all around oilfield hand, heavy equipment operator, rancher, farmer, cattleman, company owner and so much more.

In true Red Franklin fashion raise a glass or pop a top and cheers to our legend of a man who will be dearly missed by many.

Happy trails to you until we meet again. We will always love you. Wish we could  "Make it Through December".

A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
