Roberto S Jimenez (El Viejo Peludo) was called by the Lord Thursday July 11, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was the beloved son of Pedro Jimenez & Clara Salinas. He was born April 3, 1948 in Cotulla, Texas. He was the owner of Ruby's Lounge, (Home of the Rattlesnakes, Coyotes, Cowboys & Mexicans) located in Los Angeles, Texas. He was a very talented self-taught musician and songwriter who played multiple instruments such as the accordion, guitar, bajo, saxophone, keyboard. He was honored to play with Flaco Jimenez, Nick Villareal, also known as Nicky Snick, Oscar Florentino Tellez, Texas Tornados, Elaine Garcia band, Joe Vela and many more musicians. He was the founding member of Roberto Jiménez Y Los Nuevos. He also played the accordion at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Cotulla, Texas.
He is survived by the love of his life, Isabel Jimenez, Siblings: Juanita Montemayor, Twins: Rosa Gonzalez & Margarita Jimenez Chapa, Pedro Jimenez, and Consuelo (Chelo) Garcia. Children: Clementina Garcia, Christina Garcia, Joanie Jimenez, Raina Garza, Priscilla Ayala, Annabelle Schally, and Jesus Garcia. Followed by many Grandkids, Great-Grandchildren and many other family members.
His favorite hobbies were riding his motorcycle, fishing, playing his accordion, singing, eating home cooked meals & sweet treats prepared by his lovely wife, Isabel; dancing, constantly making people laugh with his contagious personality. His laughter filled our home with joy.
One of the most admirable qualities was his unwavering support and dedication. He was always there for us, whether it was to offer a listening ear, a helping hand, or a comforting hug. His patience and understanding knew no bounds, and he never hesitated to put our needs before his own.
Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we are also filled with gratitude for the time we shared with him. We will miss him dearly, but we are forever grateful for the time we had with him.
Daddy, continue playing your accordion and singing in the presence of our Lord's Kingdom.
