Steven Lamar
Davis
Dec 3, 1957 — Sep 9, 2021
Encinal
Steven "Steve" L. Davis passed over to eternal life on September 09, 2021, in Laredo, Texas. Steve was born on December 3, 1957, to Moroleen Myers Davis and Arthur Davis. He was raised in Freer, Texas and graduated from Freer Highschool before attending Del Mar Technical College in Corpus Christi. Steve began his career as a diesel mechanic, but eventually found his long-term career at ETC where he worked for over 35 years.
Steve married the love of his life, Kathy, on 8/4/84 in a baby blue tux. Steve picked this date to help him remember his anniversary, which he did for their loving 37 years of marriage. Steve enjoyed spoiling Kathy by bringing her LaLa's when he passed through for work and always put her and their kids' needs before his own.
Steve was a loving, caring man that never met a stranger. He would help anyone and everyone in need, but never expected anything in return. Steve could build something out of anything and put these skills to work helping friends and family over the years. From the early days of building cattle pens in Freer to helping young couples build their first home, Steve was always willing to lend a hand and taught his children to do the same.
Steve's kind, welcoming spirit extended to his four-legged friends as well. Stray or orphaned animals often came to stay temporarily, but quickly became a part of Steve's family and never left. He enjoyed spoiling his dogs the most, whether it was sharing his Beaver Nuggets from Buc-ees or food from his own plate.
The most important thing to Steve was his family. Many called Steve a homebody, as he didn't like to go out much, but this was because he enjoyed spending time at home with those that mattered to him most.
Steve was a selfless man that put everyone's needs before his own. He leaves behind a legacy that will be carried on by his children whom inherited the best parts of him. His kind, selfless spirt. His ability to build or fix anything. His love for animals. And his love for his family.
We look forward to the day that we will see Steve again.
Steve is survived by his wife, Kathryn Davis; children, Kelly Davis, Kimberly Davis, Steven Davis, Kevin (Patricia) Davis and Stephani Davis; brother, Christopher Davis; sisters, Cheryl Hall, Annette Clark, and grandchildren, Jasalynn Davis, Adrian Davis, Jade Lozano, Jasmine Lozano, and Kamdynn Nicole.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Peters Funeral Home from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.
