Victor Martinez of Cotulla passed away on January 1, 2015 at the age of 87. He was born on December 25, 1927 to Ascencio and Maria Martinez.

Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Luisa Garcia Martinez and siblings, Lola Lozano, Ricarda Sanchez, Gilberto Martinez and Andres Martinez.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his children, Victor Martinez Jr. (Amada Perez Martinez†), Ascencio (Teresa) Martinez, Cleotilde Garcia Martinez (Ben Villarreal), Berta (Don) Alberts, Jose Luis (Francis Elias) Martinez and Omaida Martinez; grandchildren, Jason Martinez, Lori Martinez, Sonia Alvarez, Vickey Thompson, Joseph Alvarez Jr., Anna Ramirez, Jesse Ramirez, Lisa Ramirez, Eric Alberts, Amber Alverts, Mckenzie Alberts, Adriana Alvarado, Alicia Martinez, Ericka Weberg, Janette Powell, Alejandra Peterson, Audri Peterson, Olivia Peterson and Ava Marie Martinez; siblings, Margarita Martinez Lozano and Roberto Martinez. He is also survived by 30 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Peters Funeral Home from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
