Virginia S. Martinez of Chicago, IL. passed away on October 8, 2013 at the age of 83. She was born in Cotulla, TX. on March 21, 1930 to Antonio and Manuela Sanchez.

Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilberto Martinez; her parents and baby brother, Jesus (Cuate) Sanchez.

Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Lupita (Alejo) Ortiz, Gilberto Martinez Jr., Juanita Martinez, Connie Martinez, Rosario (Alejo) Hinojosa, Ricardo (Matilda) Martinez, Maria (Victor) Quezada, Manuela (Dan) Klemple, Leticia (Tony) Martinez, Diana (Lupio) Castro, Grace (James) Calvillo, and Veronica (Angel) Perez; siblings, Estanislado (Refugia) Sanchez, Adela (Trine†) Santos, Antonio (Emma†) Sanchez, Paula Sanchez and Jose (Cuate) Sanchez. She is also survived by 51 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at the Cotulla East Cemetery.
